Like the Shepherds, Let’s Hear, Respond, and Rejoice
- Hear the Good News of Christmas
– This was a royal birth announcement. Verse 11 explains the specific “good news” through 3 titles: Savior, Christ, Lord- We have a Savior – Long anticipated (since Genesis 3: 15)
- Christ has come – The rightful and eternal king has come to rescue us (Ezekiel 34: 22-24)
- The Lord is with us – God is present to care for and nurture us (Ezekiel 34: 15-16)
- Respond to God’s Good News
- The shepherds responded to the invitation (verses 12, 15-16)
- How do you need to respond this Christmas?
- Accept Jesus as Savior?
- Accept Jesus as King of your life?
- Draw nearer to God?
- Rejoice this Christmas!
- The shepherds went away overflowing with joy – praising and glorifying as the angels had earlier
- What was announced that night is true in 2018 – good news for ALL the people
