Our scripture verses today present a strong contrast to the sinful behavior of those who do not follow Jesus Christ. Why is there such a difference in how we are to behave? Because we should be living for the glory of God.

- Live for the Glory of God (v11)
- We are saved for God’s glory, creation is being restored for God’s glory…it’s not about us, it’s about glorifying God
- This is the ultimate test for everything we say or do – does it glorify God?
- We bear the name and reputation of Christ everywhere we go
- Live Responsibly for the Glory of God (v7)
- We’re commanded to be self-controlled and sober-minded, in contrast to verses 3 and 4
- It doesn’t mean we can’t have fun (God invented fun), but it can’t be to the excess of sin
- It’s for our prayers – we’re to be people of prayer
- Live in Community for the Glory of God
- Community is built into the rest of these verses, it isn’t optional – how do we live in community for the glory of God?
- Love One Another (v8) – Christ’s commandment, covers (overlooks) a multitude of sins
- What Does Love Look Like?
- Attitude – Hospitality without grumbling (v9). We will inconvenience each other, but we should overlook that because of what we’ve received from Christ
- Action – Use our spiritual gifts to serve one another (vv10-11)
