Sermon Outline
- God Responded to Human Rebellion By Promising to Send His Son to Be Our King
- The world’s ongoing rebellion against God and His will is described (verses 1-3)
- God’s response includes contempt AND His Son, Jesus, our King (verses 4-9)
- All nations are invited to submit to God’s Son, the King (verses 10-12)
- Celebrate What’s Already True In Christ’s Kingdom; Anticipate What’s coming
- This psalm highlights the kingship of Jesus through both first and second Advents
- Celebrate what’s true because of the first Advent (Revelation 12:5)
- Anticipate what’s coming with the second Advent (Revelation 19:15)
- Accept and Extend God’s Invitation to Love His Son
- Have you accepted the good news and embraced the Son or are you still in rebellion?
- If you’ve embraced Jesus, be diligent about extending God’s invitation to others this season
