BaseCamp Children's Ministry

A basecamp is a staging area for climbers to gather before they set out for a climb. It's an area of preparation. Children's ministry is a place where we want to prepare your child with a solid foundation before they head out into their Christian walk. Here at Lake Ridge Baptist Church we strive to equip kids to know about God's love, grow in His love, and show that love to others.

From a Kid's View

It's so amazing to see families worship together! When families worship together it's a great opportunity to discuss what the sermon was about, what song they liked, or any p art of the worship service over lunch! A way to get the children involved in the service is to have them draw the sermon! In the back of the  Sanctuary are clipboards and crayons. On the clipboard is a piece of paper with blank space for drawing! When it's time for the sermon to start, it's time for drawing to start! Encourage your child to draw what the pastor is saying! After the service, drop it in to the drawing box where you got the clipboard from. Every piece of artwork will be displayed in the nursery wing on a bulletin board for everyone to see.

Sunday School

A class for all ages (even parents). Children's classes are divided by age. Children will learn Bible stories through video, music, activities, and much more. We provide a safe environment where kids can know, grow, and show God's love. Sunday School meets from 10-11 am on Sunday mornings.

Hands On Bible

Preschoolers have the option to attend Hands On Bible during both worship services. In Hands On Bible, children experience the powerful connections between scripture and everyday life. Teachers use everyday objects, just as Jesus did, to capture children's attention and engage their senses to help reinforce Bible truths.

KidPower! is a children's vocal team. Practices are Wednesday afternoons from 5-5:45 pm. At various times throughout the year, KidPower! helps lead music at the Sunday worship service or other activities. We wrap it up by 5:45 pm to give the kids to have time to eat at our family dinner before going on to TeamKID.

Lake Ridge Baptist's Wednesday night children's program gives preschool through 5th grade children the opportunity to reconnect with Christian leaders and friends that reinforce their Christian walk. TeamKID (Kids in Discipleship) is a high-energy, Bible-based program that uses the motto: "Learn About God, Use the Bible, and Live for Jesus." We learn and connect through Bible stories, memorization, and games.

Going Vertical

What do you think of when you hear someone "went vertical?" You might hear about athletes going vertical to say they jumped their highest while making a tremendous play, whether a volleyball player blocking a shot, a basketball player's amazing slam dunk, or a football player making a remarkable leap in catching the ball.

At TeamKID this year we are challenging the kids to "Go Vertical" and realize the importance of growing closer to God (so a vertical connection with God) through studying His Word and in fellowship with others.

Kids today are growing up in a culture where the Bible isn't revered as a holy book. Going Vertical will help kids understand the makeup and message of the Bible and why it's important.

Your kids are invited to "go vertical" with us on Wednesday nights from 6:15 - 7:30 pm.

Proverbs 22: 6

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
