In Psalm 55 we see an emotional roller coaster of someone who is afraid because he has been betrayed by a close friend. The Psalmist is calling out the Lord to hear his plea, afraid of the trouble that has been laid upon him. He is desperate to get rid of the feeling of fear and betrayal. We find out that the person who betrayed him was a close friend, and now it hits home even more. In all this emotion and hurt the Psalmist calls out to the Lord to rescue him from his enemy, to judge the unrighteous.
