As we look at the sixth Beatitude, we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper this Sunday. Also, we will be launching our Building Up Bible Reading plans. It actually all ties together reasonably well with our focal verse – Blessed are the purein heart, for they shall see God.

The Beatitude Explained
- Pure in Heart
- This word addresses cleanness and dirtiness, in this case spiritual and moral cleanness
- This isn’t about our public behavior or religiosity, but out motives and inner thoughts
- The Blessing – To See God: Fellowship now and literal sight for eternity
We Must Strive for Purity of Heart
- Purity Matters – Matthew 15: 17-20 – Out of the heart comes defilement
- Hebrews 12: 14, 1 John 3: 3 – As Christ followers, we are to strive for cleanness
- As present Kingdom citizens, we should be pure because the Kingdom is pure
