Sermon Outline

  • Balaam Could See the Future But His Donkey Saw the Present More Clearly
    • Afraid of the Israelites, King Batak wanted supernatural help
    • Initially Balaam was wise
    • Then Balaam got greedy and asked again
    • His donkey saw what Balaam couldn’t, saving his life (for awhile)
  • Don’t Ask God for a Different Answer When He’s Already Clear (verses 19-22)
    • Balaam’s first mistake was going back to God when He was already clear
    • God, His Word, and His will are unchanging
    • Commit to obey God’s revealed word and will in the power of the Holy Spirit
  • Keep Your Motives Pure Over Time (verse 32)
    • God saw Balaam’s rotten heart
    • We’re saved and renewed by grace but out heart and motives still matter and easily stray
