How often in our lives do we cry out to God to protect us from…ourselves? That is the plea of Psalm 141, an urgent request for spiritual protection from the evil that remains in our hearts, spills forth from our mouths, and is carried out by our hands. Ultimately only God can protect us from that poison, and so we pray for God to deliver us from our own evil.
