- Then, as Now, Tough Times Tempt Us to Focus on “Glory Days”
- The Second Temple wasn’t going to be as grand as the First (verses 1-3)
- In American church life, it’s tempting to look back
- For God’s People, the Future is Brighter than the Past
- God promised better days ahead (verses 6-9)
- This was partially fulfilled when Jesus came to Jerusalem
- It will be fully realized when Jesus returns
- Be Strong and Word in the Holy Spirit
- How should God’s people respond to a difficult present and a glorious future? Be strong and work hard (verses 4-5)
- This remain true for us in the Turbulent ’20s
