We begin our fall series in the Psalms. The Psalms are God’s prayer book for Christians and the song book of the church. In the Psalms we see how to pray the most honest, authentic, deepest prayers of our hearts. In the Psalms we see prayers of praise and thanksgiving, fear and despair, repentance and anger. Through the Psalms, we learn how to honestly and faithfully express ALL the deepest emotions, hopes, and fears of our hearts in a manner that builds a resilient faith that can withstand the ups and downs of life. In this fall series, we’ll spend time in different types of Psalms to see how they each express the cries of our hearts while pointing us to Jesus Christ, the only One who can fulfill the deepest longings of our souls. We begin with Psalm 8, the first praise psalm, where we reflect on God’s majesty as revealed through creation and His care for us.
