Many Christians hear “The Book of Numbers” and immediately fall asleep. However, in the Hebrew Scriptures, this extraordinary book is actually called “In the Wilderness” because it’s about far more than numbers!!! “In the Wilderness” chronicles nearly forty years of complaining, rebelling, and repenting in the desert as God’s people learned to trust His provision and grace enough to move boldly into the good future He’d prepared for them. As the church follows Jesus in the “wilderness” of the Turbulent ’20s, we can learn a great deal from Israel’s dealings with the LORD “In the Wilderness.”
