  1. Bad News for Israel – Their Sacrifices Insulted God
    1. Brief explanation of the point and process of the Old Testament sacrificial system
    2. Exploring the enormity of Israel’s sin in this passage
      1. God deserves the best – Honor for a loving Father, Respect for the all powerful Creator
      2. Bad Quality Dishonors Him (vv 6, 8, 13)
      3. Bad Attitudes Disrespects Him (vv 6, 13, 14)
  2. Good News for Us – Jesus is the Perfect Sacrifice:
    How do animal sacrifices point to the perfect sacrifice of Jesus? God Himself closed the doors to the temple (verse 10) when the Romans destroyed it in 70 AD
  3. So, How are We Treating God with Our Sacrifices?
    1. We’re also commanded to make a sacrifice – not so our sins would be forgiven, but because they have been. Romans 12:1 – we are to be living sacrifices.
    2. Each of us must ask – are we total living sacrifices? Good quality and good attitude?
