The Gospel According to Isaiah
Sermon Series
God told the people of Israel many things for many years through the prophet Isaiah. God spoke of Israel’s past and present. He also spoke with stunning clarity about the future of the world. Chapters 40-66 are full of wondrous promises of hope and good news in the coming Servant of the Lord. When times were darkest for Israel, these promises sustained God’s people, preparing them for a coming Savior. When those promises were fulfilled in Jesus Christ, Isaiah 40-66 became particularly precious to the early church. This fall, we’re turning to the Book of Isaiah for a heaping helping of the good news of Jesus Christ!
As we launch 2023 and desire to follow Jesus no matter what comes our way, we’ll work through what that looks like according to the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7). This most famous sermon of Jesus humbles and challenges every believer every time we read of hear it. The Sermon reminds us that we’re never done growing in Christ and that we must always live by God’s grace and in the power of God’s Spirit.
