Vision
To prepare the next generation of students to have a genuine personal relationship with Jesus Christ and demonstrate their faith by loving God and others.
Mission
To be a nurturing community where students in grades 7-12 meet weekly to engage in authentic Christian relationships and grow in their relationship with Christ through Bible study, prayer, fun activities, camps, retreats, and serving others.
Sunday Bible Study
Sunday Morning Experience
9 – 10:15 am
Colossians 1: 28 says, “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.”
LRBC provides Sunday School classes for grades 7-12 in the Student Center.
Refuge Gathering
Sundays
6 – 7:30 pm
“Refuge” is the name of the LRBC Student Youth Group. It is the primary discipleship time for all grades 7-12 students. It is a time of Bible study and relationship-building fun activities.
Other Growth Opportunities
DNOW
DNOW, “Discipleship Now Weekend,” takes place in April every year. This retreat at Camp Piankatank provides focused Bible teaching and charges up and equips students to face the world. It includes outdoor games and team-building exercises.
Camp Iroquoina
Soccer Camp at Camp Iroquoina is a unique Gospel-centered program of soccer instruction taught by experienced staff. Fundamentals of the game are stressed, and skills developed from a Christian approach to athletics. The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program at Iroquoina is for campers ages 15 and up, to develop Christian leadership skills and eventually become cabin counselors equipped to witness to campers with the Gospel.
Impact Mission Trip
Impact Mission Camp is a construction-based mission project in the summer. The camp is an opportunity to equip students to be lifelong gospel-sharers through focused, meaningful mission experiences throughout Virginia. Groups serve by painting, roofing, installing handicap ramps, and more at people’s homes. Leaders encourage students to build relationships with homeowners and community members in hopes of sharing the Gospel.
RE-Launch
RE-Launch stands for “Relationship Launch.” During this week in August students will re-engage with their Refuge leaders and friends and meet students new to the youth group. Re-launch strives to excite all attending to the possibilities God has in store for them in the new school year.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me – practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
