Sundays @ LRBC
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. ~ Hebrews 10: 24-25
At Lake Ridge Baptist Church, our primary emphasis on Sunday mornings is on Building Up the community of faith, with key elements of Welcoming In for all. We place an emphasis on the quality of the gathering, so that God will be glorified every time we gather. We offer to God and His people a corporate gathering that is rich in expression and energized in its atmosphere. Preaching is the central "building up" element of our worship gathering, and it is used as a gateway into a deeper worship, prayer and response.
Sunday Morning Schedule
We want our worship to be truly glorifying to our Father in heaven. So this is what our Sunday typically looks like:
The day begins at 8:30 am - 8:55 am for any who wish to come and pray for the day's gatherings. This is a time of quiet prayer in the Sanctuary.
Worship gatherings have preaching (worship through the Word) as the central element, combined with elements of worship through prayer and worship through music designed to encourage and build up the body.
Fellowship & Bible Study offers opportunities for individuals to fellowship and study God's Word in small groups. This program (also referred to as Sunday School) will run from 9 am to 10:15 am. A full 75 minutes provides time for deeper, more substantial Bible study and prayer in conjunction with fellowship.
Fellowship & Bible Study groups are offered for all ages. Children are grouped by age (younger children) or by school grade. For adults there are a variety of small groups with different topical studies.

We want to help make your first visit as easy as possible, so here is some information to get you started. The church building has an upper parking lot and a lower parking lot and parking on the street as needed. There is an elevator available for access to the Sanctuary/Worship Center on Sunday mornings (the elevator is located to the right of the Worship Center).
When you enter the Sanctuary/Worship Center, you can also take the elevator (immediately on your right when entering the Worship Center/Sanctuary) down to check your child into the nursery for the morning.
Nursery is available for all children, newborns through toddlers, on Sundays, Wednesdays, and during many of our other events. Our nursery is staffed by paid workers, as well as volunteers from the congregation. Background checks are completed for all adults working with our children. Pagers are used to keep you in touch with the needs of your child.
In the back of the sanctuary, a room is available for parents who have children with them in the service, but would like to be slightly separated from the congregation. It has gliders for rocking and a tinted glass window allows you to view the service while a speaker allows you to adjust the volume of the service.
For special events, nursery is usually available for 3 year olds and younger. When there is no preschool class offered, a parent can play with their preschooler who needs a break and a place to wiggle in the preschool room next to the nursery. The cry room is also available for a quiet activity if needed.
Hands On Bible
Hands On Bible is where preschoolers learn valuable lessons directly from God’s Word. Teachers use everyday objects, just as Jesus did, to capture children’s attention and engage their senses to help reinforce Bible truths. Hands On Bible meets during both of the Sunday Worship Services.
Sermons from a Kids View
It's so amazing to see families worship together! The church seems more lively and warm when children are a part of the service. When families worship together it's a great opportunity to discuss what the sermon was about, what song they liked, or any part of the worship service over lunch. One way to get the children involved in the service is to have them draw the sermon. Back in the foyer entrance to the Sanctuary are clipboards and crayons. On the clipboard is a piece of paper with a space for drawing. When it's time for the sermon to start, it's time for drawing to start! Encourage your child to draw what the pastor is saying. After the service turn it in to the box located near the clipboards. The artwork is displayed in the nursery wing on a bulletin board for everyone to see.
