This passage follows immediately after Paul’s prayer that God be glorified by the church. Chapter 4 addresses unity, making clear that the church glorifies God by being unified.
- We Glorify God by Living in a Way That Reflects Our Calling (verse 1)
- The Good News of Our Calling
- A Gift that Demands a Response – Not Just Acceptance, But Genuine Change As a Result of Our New Life in Christ
- Why Would We Keep Walking in the Old Way?
- Our Calling Is By and To Unity (verses 4-6)
- The Caller is Perfectly Unified – One Spirit, One Lord, One God
- The Call is to Perfect Unity
- Just Like Jesus Prayed in John 17

- We Glorify God By Being Unified (verses 2-3)
- We don’t do it by gritting our teeth and voting alike at meetings…
- It is about how we relate to one another – Humility, Gentleness, Patience, and Being Patient, Eagerly Making Every Effort to Keep Unity
- It Is Also a Work of the Spirit
