As Paul’s letter to the Galatians nears its end, the Apostle begins addressing some of the very practical benefits and responsibilities of life in Christ. Through faith in Christ, we are knit into one family, forming a new community of brothers and sisters where there was none before. Genuine communities is essential if we are to successfully run the race of Christian life, and indeed, are one of the greatest blessings of the faith. However, as we all know, there are hazards associated with Christian community, and we must each be careful that we don’t fall into them.

God Creates Christian Community to Heal and Help One Another

• We Must Help Each Other Escape from Sin’s Snare (verse 1)

• We Must Help Each Other Carry the  Burdens of Life (verse 2)
  • We all have burdens that overwhelm us at times
  • We must help each other carry burdens
• We Must Live With Humble Awareness of Our Accountability to God (verses 3-5)
  • All that helping can give us a big head, but we’re just sinners saved by grace (verse 3)
  • Examine yourself against God’s standard, not compared to other people (verse 4)
  • One day God will examine our works for us – that’s the load we will carry (verse 5)
