We conclude our series in Galatians with Paul’s handwritten concluding remarks. Here he underscores the great themes of the true gospel of Christ and our new life in Christ based on three crucifixions.

- The Crucifixion of Christ
- Christ’s cross is the shame of false teachers (verses 12-13) – it was objectively shameful and the salvation it ushered in was even more shameful to legalists
- Christ’s cross is the pride of true believers (verse 14) – it testifies to God’s love for us and our value and dignity
- The Crucifixion of the World
- The world says we’re trapped by our sin, status, history, mistakes, shame, etc.
- But the world has been crucified to believers (verse 14)
- We’re still tempted, but the world’s power was broken at the cross
- Our Crucifixion and New Creation
- We’re crucified with Christ and freed from the world’s power (verse 14c, Romans 6: 6-8)
- We’re new creations in Christ (verse 15) – that’s who we are (Galatians 2:20, 2 Corinthians 5: 16-17)
- God’s peace, mercy, and grace are upon true disciples of Christ (verses 16, 18)
