We are moving to our last habit of highly Godly people. We are moving away from the book of Nehemiah (but will reference it) and will be focusing on Luke 10: 1-12.
“The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few…”

Sermon Notes
Introduction
- Harvesting crops has become much easier in today’s world due to mechanized farming equipment. However, some crops still require the intensive labor of workers, such as Saffron.
- Harvesting is still considered the most labor-intensive activity of the growing season.
- In order to reap the harvest you require workers and a lot of them. Five people would have a hard time reaping 5 acres.
- In Luke 4: 43-44, Jesus tells us why he was sent and inn Luke 8: 15 Jesus said, “As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold fast in an honest and good heart and bear fruit with patience.” Jesus is hinting at the fact that there are people who are ready to be harvested so he initially sends out his 12 disciples, however the harvest is SO plentiful he later sends out a group of 72!
Luke 10: 1-12
- Jesus appointed 72 others and sent them before him; they’re preparing the way for the Lord just as John the Baptist and his disciples did.
- At first glance:
- Sent out 2×2
- Sent into the world of wolves
- Have faith in God for provisions
- Task: Heal and preach for the kingdom of God is near
