We turn now to the first pillar of LRBC’s 2020 vision: Welcoming In. Welcoming in addresses not only how we first greet newcomers to our community of faith, but how they become a long-lasting part of our community, how they are cared for and nurtured while they are here, how we gather together to express our love and devotion for God through worship, and how our community loves our neighbors!

We Must Love God with All our Being and Love Our Neighbors as We Love Ourselves

1. We Must Love God with All our Being
   1. We Must Love God First & Foremost (verse 37)
      1. The “greatest and first commandment” (verse 38)
      2. Largely cultivated through Building Up, but expressed in Welcoming In
   2. We Must Love God with Every Part of Our Being – Heart (Emotions), Mind (Intellect), and Soul (Essence) (verse 37)
   3. We Must Worship God with Every Part of Our Being (Initiative 1)
2. We Must Love our Neighbors as We Love Ourselves
   1. Intentional, Practical, Sacrificial, Without Discrimination
   2. We Must Be Loving Our Neighbors that Way (Initiative 4)
