This week we look at the wee little man named Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus , eager to get a glimpse of Jesus, gets more than just a handshake. He is sought after by Jesus. Jesus initiates the connection that then results in Zacchaeus being saved. Zacchaeus in his repentance is overcome by joy that his heart changes and responds by giving away possessions and money. The story of Zacchaeus should remind us that we have a savior who is joyfully seeking out the lost, our response is to joyfully repent, and joyful shine brighter.

Joyful Seek
- In verse 19 Jesus tells us that the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost. Often times we miss the first part that Jesus is actively seeking out the lost. Ezekiel 34: 15-16; Luke 15: 1-7
- Jesus took initiative to seek out Zacchaeus in a crowd of people. (Romans 3: 10-11)
- Jesus calls out individuals
- We need to model Jesus as we seek after those who are seeking/lost
- A lighthouse doesn’t choose which boat to shine its light out to.
Joyful Repent
- Hurry in joy and repent! (2 Corinthians 6: 2)
Joyful Respond, Shine with Joy
- Are you being a crowd or a lighthouse?
